Find a starting point
Applying stencils for walls is as important as doing an art drawing. You need a starting point. Determine the layout of the design and place the stencil on your wall from the starting point. Use the painter’s tape to attach the stencil.
Paint the design
Paint the selected stencil design on the wall using a stencil brush though the dry brush style. Start by dipping bristle tips in paint and remove the excess paint by gently dapping the stencil brush on the paper towel. Using the stippling method, apply paint by dapping the brush against the openings on the stencil. Avoid brushing over the openings of stencil as this will cause paint seeping through the stencil to the wall. Hold the stencil in position and apply pressure on it around the openings and stippling at the same time to obtain sharp lines. Now trace all the 4 registration points using a pencil before moving the stencil.
Moving the stencil
Line up the registration points and move the stencil so as to continue the design. You can tape the stencil in position and repeat the process of painting. You can use the level for checking the tile placement to ensure an even design painting. Paint the stencil design to the wall edges while trimming create a look that resembles a wall paper. Repeat the whole procedures till complete.
